She's Definitely a Girl

As I was sitting at the computer blogging tonight, Chloe was playing in some of our plastic bins that have a bunch of odds and ends. I turned just in time to see her pull out an old black rubber mouse. She held it in her hand for a few seconds and stared at it as the tail bobbed up and down. Then she dropped it and had a horrified look on her face and stood there as if she were frozen. She just stood there, started at it on the floor . . . and winced . . . trying to figure out if she was going to cry or not. I laughed at her . . then reassured her that I understood and that it would be alright.
