Last Friday, Aylee had a Reflections assembly. Reflections is a program where children in school can submit pieces of art, music, literature, etc in conjunction with a corresponding theme. The Assembly was an awards assembly where families are invited.
Aylee wanted to compete in Reflections this year in several areas. She chose to paint a watercolor picture, write a short essay, do a photographic collage, and compose a song. Reflections is a nation wide program. The children have to do the project(s) on their own. They are then judged according to age and art medium.
Of the four submissions that Aylee made, She got Outstanding Acheivement (3rd place) for literature. She then got an Honorable Mention (2nd place) for the photography. Finally, got a first place trophy for her piano music and song that she composed about Amber. (I think I sent it out a month or so ago).
Aylee's Music submission now goes to the City of Provo where it will compete against all the other schools in Provo.
